Yepper that's me a square.
Maybe lots of squares with in squares!!
I picked this quilt block from Quilter's Cache for a No Sew Block Swap.
When I sewed up the test block I was hooked.
So I pulled some greens and creams went to town measuring, cutting, pressing, sewing, pressing. Well you know the drill. It looked like a 'manly' top to me...;-)'
I decided DH needs a 'recliner quilt'...yes notice I did not say lap or nap quilt.
After all he does not REALLY NAP there ...oh no.. just rests his eyes and listens to the TV...;-)
Anyway the center top is done. Have to stop when you run out of some fabrics so was as good a place as any at 12 blocks. You can see the nice design flow of the blocks... even though this block could stand alone in a Sampler Quilt as well.
I plan to add a thin black border then another one using scrappy left overs which I cut to use as leaders and enders.(saves my high dollar thread ya know)
If I do not have enough to go all around will use them only at top and bottom.
Another black for binding. Not sure on my backing. I may try a soft fleece...any tips here??
Will just do a simple cross hatch quilting on my machine.
I have this cool looking green variegated thread I think I will use!
I also begin cutting and sewing on strips to add to my Linda B Siggie Squares.
Using some of the Pat Sloan Sweetbriar sale fabric I got from Fabric Hut!
It is going to be a fun addition to hang on my sewing room wall!!
So I hope to do more sewing today!!!
I am only on here as DH had to go into the office today!!
Normally we hang out together and I give him my undivided attention...wash up his kitchen mess ;-)
After all as a kept woman I have to take care of my man!!! Hahaha!
Once again thanks so much for all your kind words of encouragement the last week or more.
Today I am beginning to feel more like myself.
If I did not respond to you via email ( some are no reply) please consider this my way of saying YOU ALL ROCK!
Big Hugs!XOXO
Happy weekend ya'll!!
That's going to be one handsome quilt, perfect for a "recliner" quilt. Glad you're feeling more like yourself.
ReplyDeleteI like that recliner quilt. My hubby follows the same routine in HIS recliner. He's NEVER asleep....always just resting and listening to the TV with his eyes closed. (Of course, that doesn't explain the snoring, does it??)
ReplyDeleteMy husband doesn't take naps either he just rests his eyes too! Glad to hear you're getting back to normal.
ReplyDeleteI love the quilt top! It's funny...my husband watches TV with his eyes closed half the time too! LOL
