Dearest 'noreply-comment@blogger.com' .....
This is what shows in an email when I try to reply to a sweet blogger's comment who does not have an email linked to their profile.
So if you may be wondering why no one responds to your comments this is why!
I know folks are concerned over having others see this info.
Easy enough to set up a yahoo or gmail acct for your blog mail.
Next just do these easy steps to change your blogger settings.
1.Go to your dashboard,
2. Click "edit profile"
3. Check the box that says "show my email address"
4.Save your profile
HEARTWOOD ROSES has a wonderful step by step post that can be very helpful.
So go for it! I really would love to respond to your entries in the Homespun Holiday Giveaway! Sadly I can't so your name will come out till I have a way to contact you.

Love your new header Lola. Thanks for the info. I too have had several with no-reply.
ReplyDeleteThank you, THANK YOU for spreading the word about this. Most folks may THINK that they are avoiding spam by keeping their email address private, but this is not the case. All this does is prevent potential new blog friends from responding to comments privately.
ReplyDeleteI am always very thankful for anyone who takes the time to read my little blog, and even more thankful for comments and sentiments left behind on their visit. When one is thankful, it is polite to send a note saying so ... which I do via email when I can. While replying to comments on the blog can be a useful dialog for commenters who come afterward, I don't have the time or energy to check back where I have commented to see if the author has replied there.
If there is concern about spam in your email, get a good anti-virus program and check your spam folder regularly. For spam on the blog, Word Verification has completely eliminated it for me.
I'm new here, so I'm off to see what other delightful stuff I can find. I'm always in the mood to mix it up with another sewer.

I agree - the only thing that happens is that someone can respond to your comment. No one else can see your email - no one has access to anything in your life - it just makes it possible for the blog owner to reply.
ReplyDeleteReally and truly, if someone wants to look up your email, there are ways to do that on the internet and so by going to no-reply you are not stopping anyone from finding your email. Every time you use your on-line bank, facebook games or such, order something online, etc. your email if freely spread all over the internet - so I hope more people change to "reply". Ok - my rant is done - for now. LOL
I may have to post this on my own blog too....so many that I can't reply to and they may think I'm ignoring them!
ReplyDeleteLove your new blog theme. Perfect for the season.
ReplyDeleteI understand your no-reply frustrations as I have the same frustrations with some of the responses I receive on my blog. Perhaps your reminder will help.
GOOD post...so often, I want to reply to a comment and the person is set to "no reply". I then try to find their profile to see if they have a blog so I can post my reply THERE, but it would be so much easier if they could be reached by a simple reply. (And sometimes they have no blog OR I don't have time to search that out....so I just can't reply to them in that case.)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info Lola...I love the look of your blog!
ReplyDeleteMicki
you tell em'....love your new blog look, makes me want to spruce mine up
ReplyDeleteThanks for the instructions.
ReplyDeleteI never post my email. Only because I think it's more apropos to have the blooger that you left a comment for, stop by and visit ME instead of replying through an email account. Nor do I have any extra time to stop back and look for your reply!!! I have NO time for email reading, but I DO read my comments left for me.
ReplyDeleteIt has nothing to do with spam concern or privacy. It's concerning time allowed online and blogging.
