Oh Me...

My song has been the old Hee Haw tune...
If it weren't for Bad Luck.. I'd have No Luck at all!!
Well the young good look'n Doc says I was VERY LUCKY!!
This all could have been much worse if had been lower into the Achilles Tendon.
My muscle tear is in the big muscle in middle of calf.
I have been nursing things along.
Doing as Doc instructed.
Swelling has gone down and the bruising is yellow.
Not much else to do but let it heal.
It will, but be shorter and easier to injure AGAIN! UGH!
I can get around a bit better but still must be careful of quick stops and turns.

Not on PC at all much.
Was too uncomfortable to sit here at my desk top.
I do not have a lap top.
DH does but I just did not want to put my stuff on it. ;-)

After the first days with pain meds the sharpness passed.
I could sit and read, TV or stitch.
DH did take leave to be here as my 'nurse'...;-)
I am thinking we are taking turns at this nurse stuff!!
Humm wonder if that is the "Worse" of For Better or Worse!Ha! Ha! Ha!

Thanks so much for all the kind get well wishes and emails of concern.
I hope you do not mind that I am acknowledging them here and not individually!
Just want you each to know I appreciate each and every one!
May get boring here for a bit till I can get around to do more;-(

I finished all 4 of the red work baskets for the Toile Quilt!
So now I am on to the Bunny Hill Snowbound Freebies.
Doing them in red work on tone on tone fabric for a winter holiday quilt.

The Amaryllis are blooming.
So pretty!
Reds are dark but short.

The pink ones have creamy white stripes!
Taller too.
All these were from the ones we force over Christmas.
So yes you can set them out and they will come back...at least in my zone!
In upper zones try re-potting them in bigger pots!

I am trying to pop into a few blogs but no way can I catch up!!
Everyone has been really busy sewing, quilting, gardening, teas, house decor and so much else Spring and warm weather brings around!

Thanks again so much for stopping by and hanging with me!!
Wishing each a Grand Day!!!
Hugs!

  2. I got behind on blogs after I came back from Lancaster and I had no clue you'd had an injury. I'm sorry to hear this and hope you will be better than they expect AND sooner than they expect. Lovely flowers......are they in pots or did you put them right into the ground for outdoor blooming?

  8. I'm so glad to hear you're feeling better Lola, I know how painful foot injuries are as a gout sufferer. Keep the foot up, and feel even better sooner.
    Bless You!

  9. Glad to hear you are healing.
I will be having double knee surgery in July, so I will be doing some hand work as I mend to, need to trace all my bunny hill patterns I have been saving.

  10. oh OUCH! You poor thing! Take care of yourself and stay off it. Let it heal (medical advice from me? Ha)

Your redwork blocks are beautiful, and I can't wait to see what you do with Snowbound. I've been collecting the patterns but haven't done any blocks yet.

Your flowers are blooming well. I planted some more tonight - this time in the back yard. There's no frost in the forecast. Better not be; it's almost June for heaven's sake!

  12. Good grief Lola! That's no good at all. You must look after it and let it heal, although I imagine it isn't easy to keep such a good girl down! The stitcheries are lovely and your amaryllis are beautiful. Ann :-)

  13. Oh my, do take care and let it heal. When I sprained my foot last summer, it took a LONG time before I could walk. I still have some pain, but it is so much better, but it was 9 long months! So take it easy Lola.
