Pie and the floor..

Busy weekend again all the flooring is down in my room.
Pretty!
Looking from the door in.

Looking across into the closet.
DH is a Rock Star!!!!!
I told him he could be a quilt piecer extraordinaire the way he pieced around the hard bits...door trims and closet hardware stuff!
The camera is not doing it all justice... it is a beautiful flooring that looks like wood.
Next is the trim all around. Had to go yesterday to buy what we needed and the door threshold 4 pc molding kit.
I also had to have more 4" roller covers for all the painting of storage items I have left to do.
We moved more stuff around then had to rest.
We are wore out!! Sadly we can not hang with the young set anymore. Haaa!!

DH came home Friday and decided to bake his Mama's recipe coconut pie.
YUMMO!! She used to make this for me every year on my birthday, bless her heart.
We still miss her and my Mama, our girls we called them.
We have wonderful memories though.
*
Well out to paint before rain comes in tomorrow.
Will put my next projects on hold.
That is just as well as I have inside things that I HAVE to finish.
Sewing up some things. Yes had to DIG out a machine.. ha!!
Terry's Block and more stuff for Barb.
I have pulled a few things from my closest too.
My niece D is going to bring me some kid's things to put in my boxes.
So we should be ready to mail out here in a few days.

High Speed..the PC not me...;-)

High speed internet has arrived here in Raynor via satellite!
They finally arrived yesterday, late but here.
Took a while too.
They were a couple nice fellas though.
I kept them supplied with lemonade..;-)
Shoot meant to get a pic of our roof..with all the dishes up there we may have visitors from Mars now!

Here is the cute little number sitting on my PC desk!!
Oh my I feel so UP. TO. DATE.!!
Surfing at breakneck speed!!
Pics loading up in a flash!!
Must be SUPER SURFER!!
Okay whatever , yes dorky but hey I been on slow dial up for well over 12 yrs!!
*
Today I am a slow mover.
No high speed for this tired body!!
Got this cabinet done! YES!
Now just have to add the hardware back on.

Outside.

Did not paint inside, saw no need.
Will line the shelves again as I had before.

Here is the small one.
Just have to do one more coat on the door fronts.
I tell ya these are so cottage cute but a pain to paint!!
I had planned to set this on on a low book shelf also painted white BUT...DH cannot ALLOW me to paint the BLACK WALNUT WOOD!
So I said fine...you redo it, (has a bad , did in high school shop finish on it)!
Will come up with another idea... I always do!

Here is last tall cabinet to do.
Have to dust, sand, dust, prime/kilz then it gets the same 2 or 3 coats of paint too!!!
Yes that is old barn red I am covering! So see why it take a while!!
Would have been easier to go black but feel the ivory white fits my room better .
*
So with the folks not leaving here till about 3:30 or so no flooring was put down.
Some prep work did happen though then DH and Puppy napped to rest up for it this weekend.
Haa!!!! I know I am sooo bad!!;-)
*

Hope every one has a wonderful weekend be it Fallish or Springily in your part of the world.

Free 9-inch block patterns

Connecting Threads has 2 pages full of different ones.
Any or all would be wonderful for Terry's Quilt.
Go check them out! ;-)

New Dish, New Floor...I hope

As you read this I am hoping one or two things are happening or happened.

1..the high speed internet satellite dish and new modem have been installed.

2..my sewing room’s new flooring is to begin going down.

Yes both are to happen today, Thursday!!

So will update tomorrow as to how it all went.

Here is the new flooring as it has spent the last 2 nights.

It will look awesome in here!!

Finished painting the doors for closet and then the four doors of one cabinet.

Will start on another set of four next.

I have to say I do HATE painting them but they will look so SWEET in my room!!

Garden is winding down .
Still have peppers to pick.

Cut the last of the basil to dry.

It smells so good.

Here is the last egg plants of the season.

Yes that is a pineapple you see there too.

DH grows them but says this will be last one for a while.

The wind blew if over and it broke off.

It has been a bit of a weird one anyway…smells nice an ripe but never turned the golden color the others did.

We will give it a few days then cut it up for our treat.

Can still pick a couple of tomatoes once in a while.

No the bananas are not our crop but I had to set them somewhere off the counter. ;-)

Free Jelly Roll...feeling helpless...

Yes sometimes when we read of others suffering we can feel so helpless. We all want to do something to help and it can be hard to come up with a way to do so when we are so very far away.
Well Laurie of A Yankee Quilter has come up with a way for us all to reach out and touch
Terry of Terry's Treasures during this difficult time for her and her family.

Click on links above to go read Terry's blog then pop over to Laurie's to see what she is asking and how you may receive a jelly roll in return or even a $15.00 gift certificate to the Fat Quarter Shop.

No we can't fix it or make it all go away or any grand gesture but a small gesture from a loving giving heart can be all that is needed.
Helping to lift someone up in a time of such tragedy can be healing for ourselves as much as for them.
Thanks and Hugs to you all!

Snow in the forecast.....

Well for this blog post that is!!!
More stash fabs today all SNOW FOLKS!!!

I LOVE this Henry Alexander snow folks print and border print.
I am thinking maybe a runner for old chest in living room or for the wash stand.
Just so FUN for Winter!!!

These long tall snow folks are to become place mats I think.
I will add a black print for borders .
That will tie in my black in dining room.

These are just stink'n cute!!
I may just do a pieced quilt using some snowflake blocks along with these to do a quilt.
Most all of the snow folks type fabric I buy is not Christmas themed.
I will use 'snow items' through Jan and Feb to decorate with then I am ready for SPRING!! Ha!
So hope you enjoyed this SNOW FALL better that the real deal.
Not nearly as messy!! No melt away!!!

Forgot to share we will be getting the satellite internet hook up on Oct 1.YES!!!
They were to be here in the boonies Tuesday but called to change it.
Oh well I have waited this long for high speed so a few more days will not kill me!!!
