My reading is 20F! Wind is to get back up as sun gets up more!
I am sitting here in my 'coolish' sewing room/studio writing this post.
Have a nice hot cup of coffee to warm my stiff joints!
Silly me has put off cleaning the heating unit in here! So reckon will be moving a few things as in cutting table, ironing board and a huge pile in corner today to do it!
I mean really, I do not have icicles hanging as heat from kitchen and rest of house keeps those at bay;-)
Just would like to be a tad warmer for sewing!
Which I NEED to get too!
Did manage to get a couple finishes done for sweet cross stitching niece.
Made up some pillas!
Noel Tree is done a sparkly linen. The glittery rick rack does match it better then it seems in this pic! Deer Noel was a small ornie size built up to be a pilla instead. Pretty vintage lace and the cording adds a nice red edge!
Was a busy weekend mostly doing home chore stuff. Cooked the country ham Sunday.
Needed the pot liquor to cook collards for Thanksgiving. This is my DIL's most fav dish! We will be bringing the ham, collards and DH baking a cake. We will spend the day with our son, DIL and her parents. Yes will be turkey and gravy, dressing, sweet taters, snaps, cranberry sauce, rolls and canapes brought by DIL's Mom. The 6 of us will be well fed!
Later we hope to drop by our nieces home. Not sure will will need any dessert though! Hugs may be plenty!
Very Thankful for sweet family to share all the special days of the year along side!
At these times I do miss my sweet Mama and Mama-in-law a whole lot. They are with us in spirit and our sweet memories. We will always talk about them around our Thanksgiving table so they do remain with us...always.
Well best get too it! Lots to do before I lay my head back on the pilla tonight!
Don't forget to sign up for the give-away if you are interested!
This give-away is now closed! Will do a new post on winners....yes as in two!!! Thanks!!
Welcome to all the folks coming by from the Quilter's Blog Hop Party Michelle is hosting again this year!! A big thank you to her as she always does a wonderful job making it fun for every one!
Hope you all are having fun checking out all the new to you blogs and fun things being offered as give-aways! When you are finished here hop on over heresee the list of other blogs playing along!
My give-away is this Christmas themed bundle! After all it is almost here.
Maybe you can whip up some quick gifts or add to your stash for later use. I understand stash enhancement as well as the next fabric hoarder!!;-)
One of my most popular posts , albeit an old one, ismy quick pot holders.
These would be so very festive made up with the fat quarters.
Table runners make up fast also! Here is one I did in reds, one in more modern holiday fabrics, or simple patch workaround a stitchery.
Now for a very quick gift just sew up, quilt and embellish this large baby quilt size panel with the backing included in the bundle!
It is a cute one called Good Night Santa by Sharon Reynolds of Tenderberry Stitches by Northcott.
You could also cut out designs and use them in some applique projects as shirts or small quilts.
But of course a birthday had to include fabrics...right???!!!
This was my gift to myself from Connecting Threads. Pretty ones from their newest line, Lasting Legacies. So very old looking. Now a few sale fabrics had to jump on the order form as well!
Before you ask, no, there is no plan for any of them right now! ;-)
I also pulled out the GO! to cut some wool. Holly leaves and berries. Adding them to a Christmas top my sweet Mama helped me with many moons ago. Time for it to be quilted and hung up for Christmas! So that is one of my sewing goals to get done by day after Thanksgiving!
Baby girl, Wiggles, has been growing! She loves her do-nut for napping when Ma is in sewing room! Still hyperactive when not sleeping!! Silly kitty!;-)
No snow happened for us out here in boonies. Others around Hampton Roads area did see some. We do have winds and very cold temps today. Sun is very bright though. Mother Nature is doing the yo yo with us as we will be up in 70's on weekend!
Thanks so much for all the birthday wishes and the ones that shared fun memories! Love making birthday memories!
Giveaway is closed. Random.Org picked #14 On my list this is Happy Cottage Quilter! Congrats and will be sending out an email for your snail mailing info! So keep hanging around as soon will be hosting another giveaway made possible by a wonderful pattern designer! Have a grand day! We have clouded up already and wind howling here. To have super cold temps and a snow flake mixed in with some wetness! Lordy will be sort of early for us to have snow here!!
Yes that time of year again! Geeze sure seems like these birthdays are coming fast and furious last five years!
Sweet cards with wonderful sentiments delivered in mail and by hand. Sweet!
My official day is Nov 5th . Since that came on Tuesday son and DIL had us over last Sunday for the traditional BD meal! Was yummy! Fried oysters, mac and cheese with lobster! Sadly I forgot camera! We had loads of fun! They gave me this funky red chicken! Also got to see grand dog Beamer(big choc lab) in his bumble bee Halloween outfit! A hoot!!!
So Tuesday was also voting day here in Virginia. So up at dawn to hit the poll with DH before he left for work. Lucky us ours is just a few steps up the road at a local country church!
Sweet niece took the day off to celebrate my birthday with me!
She too came bearing gifts! Just call me spoiled! Wonderful brown ship toile plate to add to may wall display.
Santa plate to hang or use on table top! See his quilted robe??? Yes almost time to get out the holiday trimmings! But love my Fall stuff up thorough Thanksgiving! Just take out the Halloween bits.
Sweet niece also heard my wail about a fav fabric almost gone and found some to order for me!!!! Yes feed old Auntie's addiction!!!!
But the biggest and best was this!! She stitched up this beautiful Blackbird Design for me!!!! OMG it is beautiful!!! Now have to decide if it will be matted and framed or become a pilla or wall hanging!!! Whatever I decide has to be done by Day after Thanksgiving!!!!
She also took me off for that day. FUN!!!
Birthdays are always best enjoyed with those we love!!!
DH says we will do something special this weekend too!
